A wise more experienced trailer traveler once told us ... 200 miles, 2 nights and camped by 2 PM.
But that doesn't always work when traveling across country, even for retired folk like us. We left Illinois early September - the first two days were 500 miles each to get to SD, then 280 to get to ND, then 637 to Whitefish MT. 380 yesterday from Whitefish (Glacier Nat'l Park) to Yellowstone Nat'l Park.
Tomorrow will be 133 from Yellowstone to Grand Teton Nat'l Park for 2 nights. Then a whopping 537 to Denver to visit our son for several days. And probably a couple more 500 mile days from Denver back to Illinois. Ugh.
But despite being retired, we'd rather drive a bit longer to spend more days where we're going. And this trip is over a month long... :) You make your own choices, but remember if it's not FUN, do it differently!
