How long did it take to find the perfect camper?

I have been looking for an Arctic Fox 990 for a few months and have only looked at one so far. It was pretty rough so passed on it. I found one without a gen and air so passed on that. Another was a 2010 but the guy thought it was worth $30,000. Not. I would love to buy new but the sticker shock is just too much for us.

How long did you take to find your gem? I have placed a "Wanted" ad in the local on line RV sections in my area of Vancouver Island. I would be willing to travel to find the right one.
  • I haven't found the perfect one yet. There are always things that I find after I use it a while that I would like changed.
  • homefor2, you may find an arctic Fox 990 to buy, but you will never find a perfect camper for the same reason that you will never find a perfect boat.
  • Don't know if the is anything perfect. We just got something close and made it right for us.
  • about a week. Knew what I was looking for, saw it on craigslist. we drove two hours checked it out then wrote the check.
  • Occasionally I will see one on Ebay. I monitor the Northwood Owners website on a regular basis and seldom is there a nice used AF TC listed in the Classifieds. Right now all thats listed is a used Wolf Creek TC.
  • I wanted a molded Fiberglass TC for over ten years. I finally found one, in someones fenced/gated backyard, on 50 gallon drums, leaning against an Oak tree. It had thick moss on the top and one side. I thought it would need to be repainted. For seven years when I went to town I passed by the Bigfoot TC. I never saw a sign of life in the house or yard, and the gate to the property was always closed and locked. I was passing one day, the gate was open and a guy standing in the driveway. I ended up buying the 11.5 foot Bigfoot 1500 series. I gave the TC I had to my daughter.
