How long do you drive/tow in a day?

If touring typically no more than 2 or 3 hours a day. If dead heading (rare) maybe 8 or 9 hours max.

I always wonder about what I read on threads like this; Somebody drives a desk every day, then starts vacation thinks it's safe to drive 600+ miles
A professional starts getting ready to go. 14 hours later, he's done. It is against the law for him to drive. And out of that 14, only 11 can be driving.

300 miles/6 hours
If a long distance, we’ll break it up and stay a couple nights in various places along the way.
Last Thanksgiving, we spent a week going to Marathon Key and 9 days coming back.
We do not travel on interstates.

I stop at 230 miles or 2:30 p.m. whichever comes first.

Now that I am retired and older, I try to keep it to 3 hours a day. But, sometimes when necessary it has been 6 hours when we have trouble finding a evenings stay or in the middle of nowhere.

150 is our ideal.

We'll go as little as 50.
Not a big deal to do 250 but that's generally the cap.

Last month did 400 getting out of the mess in texas but that was because, electricity, water, gas & propane were problematic if we didn't get further.

We aren't on a schedule. If you are working with limited vacation time, it may make sense to push further but even then...a 400mile day is a long day driving an RV...a day at the beginning or end is OK to get to a destination but for a week or two trip, I wouldn't want much more. You often hear people doing cross country trips where it would work out to 250-300miles per day (every day)...that's just miserable.

5-6 hours or around 300 miles. Depends if we are near a city. Try to avoid stopping near cities.

Leaving in the morning. First stop is around 650--700mi. I am 80 years old so those long 1000+ rides are done.

I generally start at about 8 or 9 and quit early afternoon, 3 ish, so I can beat the traffic and relax. If I want to get someplace quickly I would fly.

As long as it takes. 8 or 10 hours is pretty common, 12 hours several times, have been a few at 24 hrs plus. It’s really up to you and yours, how long do you want to drive.
