If your battery was only 65 to 75 AH deep-cycle battery, you most likely killed it by drawing too far before recharging. Also; you evidently do not use a multi-meter to check the voltage of the battery while dry-camping.
The voltage of a new, or well cared for, battery would read 12.7 volts (full charge) in the first hour of camping. You should have checked again about 4 hours later to see how far the voltage had dropped.
The battery with this type of use has most likely sulfated quit a bit and does not recharge to full capacity. Yours looks like less the 50% capacity from new by this last trip. The battery was toast. The earlier trips up to this one finally were too much for a battery with poor care.
I am surprised they gave you any credit for it (unless they found a bad cell). If you actually drove the battery below 5 volts, most converter/chargers would stop a charging cycle after a few minutes. The reason you saw around 11 volts after what you say was a long charging period. The battery was never recharging then. The converter would most likely continue to supply 12 volt power while the generator was running, with the battery failing fast after stopping the generator.
I did use a multi-meter to check the voltage of the battery...evidently you didn't read where I had said I checked the voltage after having it charge all day and it only read 11.xx
