Towed 6,500 lbs for 8 years then 8,0000 lbs for 1 year with our 2007 Tundra SR5 Crew Max, 5.5f Bed, 5.7 V8, best truck I ever owned. The 35 ft trailer in my sig was a bit large for the Tundra so I moved up to the 2500 CTD. The Tundra is a bullet proof truck with outstanding drive train. MPG was around 9 mpg and I would look to fill up about every 200 miles due to the Tundra's "short legs" with its 26 gal fuel tank.
No mods to mine other than the installation of Timbrens. Looking back, I can't recall it ever being in the repair shop over a span of 9 years. Sold it for high Blue Book and put the $$ down on my new RAM CTD. I would buy another one in a minute if a 1/2 ton would fit my needs.
