As for the OP's question, yeah I do a few solo trips each season with just my dog riding along as shotgun ... can't say I particularly enjoy it but now that our boys are no longer interested my DW would rather spend more of her free time gardening. Fortunately, she still does go from time to time, most often when we're planning to camp with friends, but it's not the same as the good ol' days when the boys were much younger and we were able to do a LOT of long distance traveling / camping. It is what it is but regardless I'm sure happier dragging around a much shorter camper than I used to now that it's just myself, my dog, and sometimes my DW. I find it a lot easier backing a shorter unit into a campsite solo so the only other issue is hitching up and for that I use a Swift Wireless Camera and can spot the ball under the coupler every time with no difficulty at all.
