We're Thousand Trails members and stayed in Vegas last summer and it cost us nothing (excluding membership fee and annual dues). The CG was maybe 1/2 full too and it was fairly decent. A person could buy a "new" T/T zone pass for around $500 and stay at one of their CGs for up to 14 days making it $35/night. Do more camping and the per night cost goes down more. We bought a "used" top of the line T/T membership off CL for only $800 and can camp at any of their CGs across the US. You can buy a used one from anyone, anywhere in the US. Some of them may be older and somewhat tired but it's a good way to RV at a low cost. We're currently doing 50-60 nights a year and hardly costs us anything.
We parked at 3 casinos in Vegas that were free. The Venetian is def. not truck-friendly and we had only about an inch or so above the roof to the ceiling and we almost had to let air out of the tires. We found "camping" in Vegas was as cheap as it can get plus DW won $1200 DW won at a slot machine. :) The world off the strip sure is different.
I can't imagine paying $100 a night unless someone has a bottomless bank account. That'd be like $3K a month. Or maybe some just don't go camping many nights a year. We've stayed at a few high end RV parks and hated them. Some casinos have very nice RV parks which are as good as they can get. On a long trip DW tries to find casinos to overnight at that are free (many are) and as well many have decent buffets that are reasonably priced. Higher cost/night sure doesn't mean a higher quality CG/RV park in our experience.
