How much Proflex

Heading down to house sit in Mexico and plan to go over the truck camper (Lance 1185) and re-do all the seams / joins in between coronas. Therefore I am trying to stock up before leaving and would like an estimate on how many tubes I might need to compete the job.
Also I had planned to do the roof with Proflex but read that Dicor might be better for this.

Thanks, leaving in a week and where is the best place to buy these items from?

  • I hate Proflex, because in several years it turns rock hard. It also discolors as it ages.
  • I'll be interested to read about your experiences and any issues going into MEX these days. Pls keep us informed.

Also NAPHTHA is a good cleaning agent. Take a Qt can with you too for the really tough cleaning.
  • Cheers Guys,

ordered 6 tubes of proflex and have the tools ready to go. See you in Mexico!

    Cheers
  • Better more than you need, get 6 proflex. I used 3-4 on my Lance 981. Used plastic scrapers to help remove old caulk.
Edit- I used masking tape to keep a clean line. It really helped.
  • and skip the coronas and try some SOL. I hear its the #1 beer inside Mexico.
  • I like the clear proflex.I would bring 2 tubes of each plus denatured alcohol for cleaning the roof.
  • I would get more than you think you need. I love Proflex...it doesn't run and sag like Dicor. I buy it from AdventureRV.
