Either an F150 3.5L EB with the HD payload package or an F250 will easily pull that. The F250 6.2L will pull it with better stability and better engine braking while the F150 will pull it with better performance and maybe better fuel mileage.
The EcoBoost engine is a good powerplant and may get good fuel mileage while not towing (as long as you keep your foot out of the turbo), but that economy tanks when towing. Many towing with the EcoBoost report fuel economy that's 1/3 less than I get with a 1-ton diesel (many threads on this and other forums). I've never seen anyone complain about having too much truck for their trailer, either.

I belive te OP was talking about gas dnginesn not diesels like the Cummins I drive.
As far as gassers go, every gasoline engine uses a lot of fuel under load, but just about every test where the 3.5L Ecoboost is pulling the same trailer down the same roads as an N/A v8(see links below), it has gotten better fuel economy. If you have evidence proving otherwise then I would be glady to say otherwise.

As far as someone complaining about too much truck for their trailer.... I am one. My 99 was a DRW and I could not stand it. It was too much truck for my needs and I hated how wide it was as a daily driver. It was that truck that made me lower the weight of what I was towing rather than drive a DRW truck again.
