For the record, the OP's trailer is too much for a 1/2 ton,and I think if you are right at the limit, you should bump up to a 3/4 ton, but a "1/2 ton can only tow a PUP"? Come on...
Deary me, BPRescue, google "sarcasm" and get back to us.
On topic, like many others I'd recommend a gas 3/4 or 1-ton SRW to tow a 10k trailer safety but also be close in price to a 1/2 ton.
