Frankly I repaired couple of cab overs and am still surprised how rotten 1x1.5 pieces of lumber can support the weight of 2 adults + some cargo
The picture is not telling everything. Would that be a metal frame in the pop out, I would not see a problem.
This way or the other checking out with manual should be the first thing.
