How much weight is too much weight?
I am looking at campers and thinking of a 9.5 foot. They weigh about 2500 lbs and I have a 2500 dodge. I was looking on another site and there were people with 11 foot lance campers that weigh 3300 lb...

I keep hearing about this adding 1000 pounds loaded and I am sure that in some cases its true. I loaded up for my normal trip yesterday and weighed every item on a scale which I checked for accuracy that I loaded into camper, fridge,and back seat. Loaded even more than I usually take to compensate for wife's clothes and granddaughter. Came to whopping 225 lbs!! That number did not include 35 gallons of fresh water or beer;). I make a point to pack light with only what I need.
