I keep hearing about this adding 1000 pounds loaded and I am sure that in some cases its true. I loaded up for my normal trip yesterday and weighed every item on a scale which I checked for accuracy that I loaded into camper, fridge, and back seat. Loaded even more than I usually take to compensate for wife's clothes and granddaughter. Came to whopping 225 lbs!! That number did not include 35 gallons of fresh water or beer;). I make a point to pack light with only what I need.
I bet your 225 lbs did not included food and drinking water can goods that weight a lot.
Lets see 35 gals water holding tank about 323 Lbs
6 gals hot water tank 52 lbs
Beer 10 lbs LOL
Your guess of stuff your taking 225 lbs ?????
total 610 lbs
Now lets see what you most likely forgot about.
Lawn chairs / Bar BQ with propane tank/ Drinking water / most of the food items / soft drinks /
more beer / You would be surprised what this will all weigh.
Only way you will be sure is loaded it up with everything you need including full tank of gas all people going camping go to scale and weight it all.
I know I got one big surprise Truck and camper weight more than 500 lbs more than I thought it would.
How in the world do you get all that in a 9ft cabover? Mine is 11'3" and I have to pull a cargo trailer to pack that much stuff.
