It would also make more sense for manufactures of light duty trucks, in tow ratings to have multiple gcw specs.
IE
@ 15000 lbs with 70 soft of frontal area. 114000 w 80 soft. 13000 with 90 sq ft. Instead of just 14000 gvwr, you need to look up spec to see rating is based on 80 ft.
Or 14000 max grade is 12%, 13000 is 14% 13,000 is 15%.
Buy an MDT/HDT, as noted, no gvwr is stated. Retrain gets species on if you are doing local, or freeway driving. OTR min spec is 60mph 1% grade, min grade 15%' better 60 @2%, 20% grade. best, 60 on 3%, 25% grade.
Local speeds are 55 mph at a I've freeway grades, but minimum grade pulling in first gear will be from 20 up to a 100% grade! 100% is 45 degrees.
At the end of the day, gcwr can mean different things for different people! Depends on what you expect said truck to do! I expect trucks to go up rated weights upwards of local 30% grades, if it can't, then it's not raining speed correctly!
