On our highway tractors the GVWR is equal to the sum of the gross axle weight ratings. They dont specify a tow rating. I use the same numbers on my pick up..... I ignore the gcvwr and the gvwr and try to stay within the gawr.
Not all the tractors I have had thru the years have had a GVWR on the plate, but all the trucks did. All the tractors, and the trucks that where "tractor equipped" (had the valves for trailer brakes and wiring for trailer lights) had a GCVWR on the plate. None had a "tow rating"
Once a LEO saw the rating of 80,000 when checking the VIN. Looked at the B.O.L. saw was grossing 110,000 nearly messed in his pants. By the time the first was due in court he had written over 40 overweight tickets to me and my drivers. Sure made me feel good to watch the judge school him.
