- dspencerExplorerI am also OCD about checking my tire pressure. I check my ST tires on the trailer before it moves every time. On the Truck I check every time before towing and when not towing every couple weeks minimum.

For those with TPMS ON THE VALVE STEM, AND that balance your trailer tires, did you have the tires balanced before or after installing the system? Seems that either type of TPMS would require re-balancing the tires. I'm looking at the screw on type and figured I would wait to have the tires balanced until after I install them. Thoughts on this?
My tires (Michelin XPS Ribs) were balanced when mounted. TPMS (TST 507 non flow thru) installed a couple years later without rebalancing. No detectable difference. - AH64IDExplorer

I must be lucky or something. I have GY Marathons and they never leak air. They're 3 seasons old and after their winter nap of about 4-5 months they're still at 64-65psi. Every time I check before a trip they're at 64-65psi. So for me I don't check them before every trip. I may go 2-3 times with out checking them.
Luck has nothing to do with it. A tire shouldn't leak air, but I still check them.
I was more paranoid about heat in ST's than LT's which is why I checked my Marathons more often than my current tires but it was rare for them to need air. - goducks10ExplorerI must be lucky or something. - RVcircusExplorer III check every time I hook a trailer to my truck, so when I leave the house and again before I head home.

I have a TPMS and don't need to worry about it unless we have a big temperature change.
Same here and I cycle thru the readings each morning before leaving the CG for that day's travel.
Larry - GrandpaKipExplorer IITPMS here, too. Peace of mind is worth twice the price.
- owenssailorExplorerI must be lucky. I parked our trailer in Apr and checked the tires 2 weeks ago. They needed about 2 PSI increase. I've found the same when travelling - occasionaly 1 or 2 PSI change. I a tire regularly needs air something is wrong.
- rbpruExplorer III check them before each trip, or every two weeks if we are on an extended trip.
