That's 5w-40, for clarification.

And I change in the fall before being put away for the winter, but only 6,600 miles last year, even less this year.

I would say with little use to change it once a year. The truck will always have sime type of load so the engine will always burn off any condensation that may start. If you use synthetic i would go a max of 6k miles.

My 05 has 37,000 miles and I change it once a year, just before I put it away for the winter. I use Amsoil in the engine, transmission and differentials. Truck is used mainly for towing our TT and only in the spring, summer and fall.

Add an "e" on the end - it makes more sense then.

I have changed oil twice. Truck will be two years old in July. Has 5,900 miles on it, all non-towing.

I use synthetic in my Ford and change the oil every 25,000 km. Engines in our heavy equipment use regular oil and the oil is changed every 600 hours. The equipment manufacturers recommend every 600 hours or 1 year and don't specify synthetic.

If you are using a quality synthetic oil, then you can go a year without changes.
