It's usually a really good idea to follow OEM specs on maintenance items. IOW what does the book that came with your truck says about changing your fuel filters? Any more is usually a waste and any less is usually a danger.
Something that many people don't understand is new filters don't filter better than old filters. In fact it's the other way around.
From some of these posts on here I'm beginning to see why people say diesels are so much more expensive to maintain. :R
