Like RAS42 says, cheap insurance against injector damage. I change my fuel filters at every other oil change, and don't forget the transmission fluid change either. 30K miles for regular service, 15K miles for severe service such as towing. Mercon SP/LV is now available as a generic instead of being only available at the Ford dealer, still pricey at $6 a quart with the 5R110 automatic tranny taking 19 quarts to flush and fill.
