My little gas can is probably 10 times better than the one in the poor Pinto.:)
Interestingly enough the Pinto tank was most likely much better than todays EPAs splat and burp gas cans which spill more gas on the ground than what goes in the tank :h..
And by the way, Pintos gas tank was no worse than GMs exploding truck gas tanks which GM denied any knowledge of a design mistake for nearly 30 yrs (tank placed OUTSIDE the frame rails with no protection).. Not to mention EVERY CAR on the road from the 1950s up to at least 1980s used the exact same location with NO underside protection..
Pinto just happened to get picked on since at the time it was a good volume seller and a bunch of ambulance chasers decided it was good pickens..
