I don't know how to make packing enjoyable but I have learned to make it less stressful. My solution is lists and designated containers. If we have everything on the list checked off, we have everything we need. We use the same bags (Eagle Creek, Mountainsmith, and L.L.Bean)and the same Rubbermaid bins for every trip. When those are filled, we have enough. I clean out the 'fridge into a cooler and we are good to go. Fortunately I have a "staging area" in the garage and a spare bedroom so that I can keep some sort of order as we work through the process. Right now I am preparing for a three month trip to Alaska, leaving Saturday. lizzie
