How to get did of smell in toilet and sink

I recently purchased a travel trailer that is situated on a permanent campsite. I'm new to this and I've noticed a very strong odor when I flush. I also am getting an odor from the sink. I've been leaving the valves to the in ground black tank open. Any ideas?

    Sink should have a normal plumbing trap so I can't speak to that issue?

    But, DO NOT leave the valve to the black tank open. You will soon if not already have a world of grief...Wait until the tank is AT LEAST 2/3rds full before dumping...use lots of water or the solids will build up-dry up and seriously clog the entire system.
