Sink should have a normal plumbing trap so I can't speak to that issue?
But, DO NOT leave the valve to the black tank open. You will soon if not already have a world of grief...Wait until the tank is AT LEAST 2/3rds full before dumping...use lots of water or the solids will build up-dry up and seriously clog the entire system.
