How to jack up a trailer?

It seems like the manufactures should include this in their owners manual info. If they do I can't find it. I read you should use jacks on the frame to lift the trailer and others say to place the jacks under the axle/leaf springs. So where is the best place to place the jacks in order to lift the trailer to remove a wheel or work on the bearings?

  • I use a couple short lengths of 2 x 8 with a bevel on the ends for leveling.
To change a bad tire on one trip, I put them behind the good tire, and backed it up on them.
Changed the tire and drove back off them. No jacking required.
The tire shop that changed all 4 after that, jacked one side at a time, using two jacks. Jacking under the axle/spring bracket.
