How to remove bottom step???

My two year old camper is on a seasonal campsite for this summer.. I had the campground put in a deck outside.. with the deck right up to the doors the stairs wont pull down all the way and i have to keep the bottom step folded up. Campground maintence person said all i have to do is drill out the rivets on the bottom step and then when i leave in the fall i can put bolt and nut on there and it will work like new.. is this true? any ideas??

since im not handy, do you think just a normal rubbermaid two step stool would work? probably can find one at walmart i would think.

yep, that's what I used on my motorhome when the steps went bad on a trip. tied a rope to the steps, and when I stopped I had to throw it out and drag it around to the door. no problem in a trailer however.
a better idea than building a wooden one.

looks like you also may need some steps getting up on the new deck. Maybe optical illusion...
  • thanks. didnt think of making new wooden one..im not very handy, but seems like a good idea.
  • Bolts/nuts OR new rivets.

    OR
Fold steps up and make a new wooden 2 step box
