How to Replace Cabover Window on 2013 Palomino Maverick 2902

Need to replace the cabover window. Photographed the same one on the other side for reference.

Lost the window driving because I forgot to latch it from the inside. Apparently the latches were the only thing keeping it on the camper.

It's a special type of window that sits over the window frame and latches.

There is a seal on the inside and the outside of the window frame. They aren't spots to hold a piece of glass however, just gaskets.

Glass shops could cut me a custom piece of glass but that doesn't do any good since it's not as simple as just getting one piece of glass to put in the middle of the window frame since there's no seal in the middle.

I've exhausted all my options.

Contacted the manufacturer and they told me the windows are European (dometic) there is nothing they can do.

Called dometic, got transferred 4 times and gave up after being on hold for 40 minutes.

Camping places aren't of any help.

Apparently RV junk yards don't exist.

It's an uncommon window size 28" x 22".

The only option I've found online for the exact window is $700 and takes 32-34 working days to ship. :(

My only other idea is to get a larger gasket to put around the window frame with a notch in the middle to hold a piece of glass.

If you have any experience with this truck camper, or replacing similar windows, any advice on this is much appreciated.

  • Welcome aboard... bummer! I was in the same spot as you a few years back. You are correct, Dometic windows are not intended to be unlatched while driving. I had to replace the large one over the dinette because I left it cracked open when I forgot top shut it.

I am not a fan of this type of window... you can read my critique HERE.

I got mine form the factory, have you tried calling Palomino to get one?

Perhaps you might try Five Star RV. They are located just north of Denver and have an RV salvage yard.

Post a picture when you get a chance. This site is kinda' wonky to add images. Use THIS LINK to create a string to upload photos.
