How to Run TV from 12 Volt Receptacle in Trailer???

The power inverter DC 12V to AC 110V from bestek is good to charge. I am used to charge laptop with it in car. Maybe you can compare this tool with others on Google to get more data. Or know more about bestek on here. http://www.bestekmall.com

I have a 12 volt/110. RCA. 15 inch wide screen led. TV/DVD player. It was not cheap but worth it. Boondocking hd DVD movies through that 12 volt outlet.

It took a little web searching to find the right DC plug, but I got one on eBay for under $5. Generally any of the TV's with the wall-wart power supplies - even those that say "14v" will work down to below 11 volts. There are many threads on here that talk about it. I would avoid an inverter if you can, they're not 100% efficient and their 110v output voltage is often not a clean sine wave unless you pay big bucks for a premium unit. I would not pay a 2X premium for a "12v TV" from the company that makes very low-end stereos for RVs.

I am running a 32" LED LCD/DVD combo tv off of the 12v plug. I use a 350 watt inverter and everything works great,,TV only pulls 27 watts with DVD and 22 watts with out DVD,, so I have plenty of power,,We never hear the little fan on the inverter running.
PS.. I got that inverter from Harbor Freight for $20 on a sale!! Worth its weight in gold (tv time)!!

No, not at all. But, there are people on here with older motorhomes and tts that came with CRTs that are still using those CRTs. I didn't want to assume that he had and was talking about an LED tv. I also noted in my edit about 3 minutes after I posted that I did not mean a 'flatscreen' of any kind, but an LED.

My 12V Cigar Plug behind the tv is rated for 8A (100W). I use a 100W MSW inverter to power the tv when we stop somewhere without hook ups. It works fine for us.

I have ran it for about 5 hours once (I needed a nap) but I do not know the condition of the battery afterwards. I shut it down, dropped the antenna and moved on.

Yes and they ain't cheap if your buying one from an RV dealer. But like others have said buy a TV that uses a 120/12V power adapter and hook it up to your 12V system.

I bought a used 19" Samsung Tv + Panasonic Blu-Ray for $75, on Craig List
the Inverter on Ebay for $25. The Battery on Ebay, $50. TV mount on Amazon $12. HDMI cable was FREE.

total output $162 & I now watch a movie before going to bed,

PS: My CPAP has it's own dedicated battery also.

Should work fine as it worked for me for a while.

I just got bored with the growing tangle of devices that also needed charging. So I wired in a 300w sine wave inverter to the regular convenience outlets. About $300 self install.

My TT doesn't have the 12 v receptacle, so I bought a "jump pack" and run a 140 watt inverter off it for TV if needed.
I can't kill my main battery doing this. Spent well under $100 total, and have already had need to use it for jumping a vehicle.
When I have 120v I just recharge the jump pack.
I think I got about 4 hours of TV and booster use off a charge.
