OK, so you seem to have a hate for HYDRONIC HEAT..
An oil filled electric heater works on the SAME principle as a cast iron radiator system and boiler in a older home (or even baseboard heaters using a boiler).
Don't tell the folks who live in Vermont and many other northern states who USE hydronic heating system that they have been freezing to death when all they needed was a "ceramic heater" :R
Hydronic systems ARE very comfortable and do work very well, BUT they work SLOWLY (as in they take longer to get from 40 degrees to 70 degrees) than a forced air system..
Hydronics uses natural convection air currents to move the heat.
There is NOTHING "special" about a ceramic heater, it is a FORCED AIR heater. The problem with forced air is when you get TOO far away from the heater you WILL feel MORE of a cold draft.. This makes YOU FEEL COLDER. When that ceramic heater does turn off you INSTANTLY FEEL COLDER.
Hydronics on the other hand since they are using NATURAL convection air currents can be operated at a lower surface temp. As a result in homes using hydronic heat the boiler operates at a LOWER temperature which saves fuel in the end.
Hydronics due to oil (or water in the case of a home system) in the radiator takes some time to cool down all the while still releasing heat into the surrounding air.. The result is a WARMER FEELING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AFTER THE HEAT IS TURNED OFF..
If YOU don't like hydronic heat, it is most likely due to impatience on YOUR part. I personally don't mind hydronic heat, I have been around both forced air and hydronic.. Big difference with hydronic being a bit more comfortable.. No cold balsts of air coming out of registers when the furnace starts up..
I have used a oil filled heater in my 26ft TT in 32 degree days when I was rehabing my TT.. Had NO problem getting the trailer up to 70 or even 75 degrees within an hr..
Wow, And apparently YOU seem to have a hate for ceramic heaters! :B
Everyone has a right to give their opinion to a post. You seem to want to direct all your attention to bashing those that reply.:(
