cold is cold.
And it IS colder in an RV because of the lack of insulation AND all the elements of an RV that allow the cold in and heat to escape. Unless you add protection.
I am from Wisconsin I know what cold is.....or at least I thought I did until I 'tried' to stay in an RV in just as low as 38 degrees. NOT!
*First of all ditch that oil filled heater, you WILL freeze to death using that heater.
1. Ceramic heater
2. Cover all your roof top vents from the inside with RV Pillow Inserts. These vents are NOT sealed, all your cold comes in from there. A 'must have' for heating AND air conditioning an RV.
3. Cover all your windows.
98% of your cold comes from the windows. I use the KISS theory. I bought van windshield sun shades. And surprisingly the same size as RV windows! They fit right up under your shades. Easy in and easy take down. They fold right up for storage. Another 'must have' when using a heater or air conditioning in an RV.
4. The entry DOOR. Took me a few days to find out that the cold was coming in from under the door.:R A simple towel at bottom of door stops that.
If you do the above you can bring up the temp in your RV to a nice warm, surviving, temperature.

RV roof vent pillow inserts. You can find them at any camping store and/or at any RV dealership they all have a supply store.Sometimes walmart has them also.

Walmart has the biggest selection of van windshield sun shades.
Give the OP a BREAK!
Did you bother to READ the LAST post by the OP?...
blckgnx writes "Thank you all, excellent advice. Today was figure it out day.
The best I can find, is that there is only one vent in the middle of the floor (about 3" x6")and very little just warm air is coming out(it won't blow out a match).
Only other vent is a 4" Oval vent at the bottom of a cabinet in the bathroom, and is blowing fairly good but is in the bathroom??
I checked the outside exhaust side of the heater, and it is blowing out better, and much hotter than the inside vents?
The dealer we purchased from is over 200 miles away. We live at 4,000ft in the Tehachapi mountains.
We are thinking the center vent is somehow blocked.
There is about 1" of snow on the ground, so I will have to wait till later to pull the underside cover, so that I can follow the ducting.
I'm 71, and a little slow after a couple of heart surgeries, so I brain farted the 12v vs 120v part.
I did all the normal checks, two full 30lb propane bottles, all windows closed etc.
I think we have a lack of vents problem. Thanks again. Ron " (Spaces and bolding added by me for emphasis and to make easier to read)..
Folks, sounds like the OPs furnace vent is blocked, disconnected or the flexible duct is crushed..
I voting for disconnected, good chance when trailer was built the factory build crew missed connecting the duct to the furnace PROPERLY and the duct has fell away from the furnace..
Sounds like he is missing supply ducts, or they are not connected. It happened to me. Your furnace manual should tell you how many you need, and if there is not a lot of air blowing out, something is wrong. Unfortunately you may need to take it back in to get corrected. Please let us know how it goes.
