After reading all of this and the other threads, I just don't get why the truck has to be an F-150 and not an F-250. An F-150 with a 3,000# payload is going to have the same (if not, worse) ride as an F-250 with a 3,000# payload.
Why the aversion to the F-250?

From all my reading (I have no 1st hand experience) what you say is TRUE since to get that high payload in the F150 things would have to be "STIFFENED" up much more than a normal F250. There are no "FREE RIDES" so to speak in this area, but the OP has "FIXATED" on this F150 idea and seems very close minded in looking at things logically and following the sage advice she is being given. One HUGE thing with the more capable vehicles is that you absolutely have to adjust the tire pressure since having your "E" rated tires aired up for the much higher payloads when running around empty makes the ride like running on "HARD RUBBER" tires. The ride in my 1T van is "NIGHT AND DAY" between my max payload pressure number and then airing them down to the proper pressure for the unloaded pressure.
