The 2011-2014 F150 has two frame thicknesses (3 if you count the Raptor).
All the HD Payload trucks have the thicker frame (as well as wheel, tire, rear axle and suspension upgrades).
Also, IIRC, the Crew Cab, long wheel base regular payload trucks have the thicker frame.
All other trucks have the thinner frame.
Max possible payload with the HD Payload option varies with Cab and drive train. For a 4x2, it ranges from 2620# (Crew Cab) to 3120# (reg Cab). But again, these are the MAX POSSIBLE payloads, stripper XL trucks as listed in the catalogue. The factory door jamb payload will be less because of options.
You usually have to order the F150 HD payload truck unless an XL work truck will do. Locally the high volume dealers have them in stock.
The 2015 models are completely different, so no idea there. Except that the payload will be higher even for the non-HD payload models because of the light weight Al body.
