Bruce, you are right, the 250 is the obvious answer!
My 250 is not a daily driver, but I enjoy driving it, even around town. It rides like a truck, because it is, but handles great, easy to drive. My wife likes riding in it, but rarely drives it, she has two other choices.
The only down side of the 250, compared to the 150, is the unloaded mileage of the 6.2, compared to the 3.5 V6. I can drive our Honda car, if I need good mileage. If the OP is using the tow vehicle, for every day use a HD 150 may serve them better.
Myself, I'd still choose the 250 and be done with it, even knowing I would only be towing a small percentage of the time.
