I haven't read through all of the comments so forgive me if this question has been asked before. Have you thought about a full sized van? A 350/3500 passenger van will have all of the payload of a pickup, but also have as much room as an SUV. All this at a lower cost. It sounds like the bed of a pickup would be pretty useless to you.
You can buy a brand new Chevy Express 3500 or GMC Savanna 3500. Although Ford stopped the production of the E Series this year, there's still lots of E350s out there on dealer lots. The used market is where these vans shine since you can get one for fairly cheap. Very few are in the market for one these vans so prices tend to be low. You should look into it.
