I apologize for not reading every post, just the OPs.
Not going to be mean here, but if you don't want a trucky feeling, you should buy a crossover and a Pop Up or Forest River R-Pod.
You are going to get a trucky feeling with any truck based vehicle, that can tow anything heavier than a pop up.
1/2 tons are really meant only to tow light trailers and your trailer looks to fit that.
I don't know what F150s your looking at but most have payloads of 1400 to 1900 lbs. I'm a member of two F150 forums and only the "LUXURY" F150s that are only good for grocery getting, have lower than 1300 lbs of payload.
Luxury truck = Lariat, Platinum, Limited, & King Ranch.
Regular trucks with useable payload = XL, STX, XLT, FX4
(yes, I only mentioned 4WD trucks because if it can keep from getting stuck, it's not a truck to me) :)
If you want a "LUXURY" truck and still have enough payload, you WILL HAVE TO GO to a F250 at least.
Hek, even a coworker bought a 2011 single wheel F350 Diesel Lariat FX4(package only on Super Duty trucks) and with his GVWR, his payload was only a bit over 900 lbs!!! There's F150s with more payload than that.
Payload is based off of "BASE" trucks. The 1700 lbs payload for a Super Crew 4WD is based on a stripped (no power) XL model, BASE TRUCK. :)
You quickly add several hundred lbs of weight with electric motors, structure (for moonroofs), side steps, speakers and subwoofer, rear sliding window, ect.
Now with the STX models offering Crew Cab models, you should be looking for STX, XLT, or lightly optioned FX4 models if you intend to tow a Travel Trailer.
My loaded XLT has a payload of 1582 lbs but is lowered with my soft tonneau cover and Bedrug bedliner to about 1547 lbs. It's enough payload to tow my 6500 lbs Jayco Jay Flight 26BH travel trailer with a properly adjusted weight distribution hitch.
Just forget about looking for LUXURY trucks and get a standard truck that's nicely loaded, if you want to tow with a F150.
Also for some reason, Ecoboost Trucks lose 150 lbs of payload to 5.0L trucks for some reason. The GVWR for a standard Ecoboost Screw 4WD truck with 5.5' bed is 7200 lbs while for a 5.0L is 7350 lbs.
I like the 5.0L better personally and actually get better mileage than many Ecoboost owners get with their trucks. I average 17.5 to 18.5 mpg mixed and 20 to 21 mpg @ 65 mph expressway.
I also get between 10.5 and 11.0 mpg towing my Jay Flight 26BH.
You can get a 5.0L Screw 6.5' bed truck with the "HEAVY DUTY PAYLOAD" package but they are very VERY rare and you can't order anymore. With that truck, you get between 2100 and 2300 lbs payload depending on options.
Good luck
