I can't imagine ever running out of "tow capacity" before running out of cargo capacity.

The thing that amazes me is after 17 pages, people are still focused on Tow Capacity.
Actualy, I would say that Payload is what's important if you are towing a Travel Trailer where you want a relatively high tongue weight to reduce sway, or where you are pulling a fifth wheel which has a high pin weight.
And there, even 250/2500's (especially the diesels) run into problems.
But if all you are towing is a flat bed trailer full of bricks, or something else where you can get away with 10% or less tongue weight, then tow capacity might be what limits you.
