I dropped by the Livermore CA Lance Dealership

Pro Trucks Plus
To get a quote on removing the old Winegard Satellite Antenna and patching the resultant hole in the roof with a guaranteed TPO job.

They had quite the Lance Inventory on the lot
Had to force myself not to browse and drool

  • Is just me? It just doesn't sound right to say you two want to share holes.

Buzz - can you send me your old hole? I need to install an antenna and have no hole inside! :)

Great idea..you see, this is why I love this place. Pure genius.

  • Inside fix...get a door knob bump plate (disc of white plastic)from Lowes...or install a light over the hole...bettery LED would be good or go fancy and wire one in. See Sleepy's LED install.

Why not just let the kayak hang off the back the needed amount

two Kayaks different sizes cross bars are where they need to be for balance and security. Yaks already stick off the back some and the bow of the shorter one comes right up to the base of the old dish mount. The antenna is/was a useless piece of junk that has been replaced by a self locating King Flex portable.

  • It doesn't cost anything just to LOOK!!! LOL :B
  • They took measurements, discussed some options. They are going to call to get material pricing and timing and get back to me. They will fill the hole to the inside ceiling line but its up to me to do the inside covering.

This is what I did in the interim to create enough room for the Kayak on that side

  • Have considered the antenna removal idea many times. The roof patch seemed less troublesome to me than the hole in the ceiling where the adjusting knob is located. What did they tell you?
