- philhExplorer IIWhat kind of fuel economy do you get pushing a brick along at 100+?
- BedlamModeratorI was lucky enough to live in an area where speed limits were very high when I was younger. Knowing what triple digit speeds feel like on many extended drives, I no longer have the yearning to continue down that path. I still own vehicles that can do triple digit speeds and like the acceleration they provide but my memory of high speeds is still fresh enough that can roll off the throttle at 70 mph and continue on my way.
I have not been in a wreck where I could not drive away or required a hospital visit, so it is not a scare or close call that prevents me from driving at high speeds. I am just happy to make it this far in life without major economic or health impacts. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Crash and Bike are two words that don't go well together!!! - 4x4ordExplorer IIIMaybe now that I crashed my bike I'll be riding a little slower. Although I couldn't really go very fast even when I wanted to.... it had a hard time maintaining 120 mph.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIIt's a very smooth stable ride at 104. It does not take long to get there either. That was my 11 HO DRW, 15 I think is slightly less. Amazing I was turning only 2,300 RPM with the 3.42's.
- OH48LtExplorerMy Ford F150 with the 3.5 Eco is speed limited to 99 mph. It gets there quick, still pulling hard in 3rd gear.
If I want to play fast, I just jump into my Mustang Bullitt. Its speed limited to 163 mph. - wanderingbobExplorer III have only seen 100 mph twice , once in my fathers 49 Hudson Hornet when I was 5 or 6 years old and next on my 1960 Triumph Bonneville mtcy when I was 16 !
If my wife ain't watchin I occasionally will tow a delivery trailer at 80 , then she reaches over and slaps me ! - Cobra21ExplorerUn-hook the camper and see what it does.
- naturistNomadMy TV has a top speed of 155 mph. I’ve never tried it, but it’s well documented. BMW X5 diesel.
And no, I have no desire to try it. - MFLNomad III've had some kinda fast cars, but always preferred driving a truck. I just never really enjoyed driving a big square box/truck fast, as most were not designed for that purpose. I moved to fast motorcycles, for my rush, when the crotch rockets became popular. I don't think my present truck has ever been over 85 mph. I have to admit though, my present Yami-rocket rarely see speeds over 120 anymore.
