Well my beloved 2011 GMC had the high pressure fuel pump grenade sending metal into the injectors... A very expensive repair for a truck with 110k miles on it.
I had really wanted to wait another year prior to buying a new truck but I think it is gonna be trade in time and let the dealer deal with fixing the 2011- I had also wanted to at least drive a new Ford and Ram before deciding what to get.
Amazing that a high pressure fuel pump can go bad and basically destroy a motor!!! Now it just depends on what they offer me...
At least with the Ram you won't have to deal with another CP4 HPFP. I have to wonder how many of these Fords ,and Gm's are having this same issue. Its unfortunate you had this problem it seems to be an all to common problem, and expensive to repair.
If I may ask was it water in the fuel problem creating rust that caused the failure. That seems to be one of the culprits.
