As usual cummins in spouting hearsay... GM requires to look at the fuel pump and if there's rust it's game over for warranty. They basically look for fuel contamination just like the others. Some time ago I posted a link to a Ford warranty report stating there's more warranty repairs than voided warranty repairs. I suppose there's always two sides of the story.
OP... Sorry for the failure. Before claiming this on your insurance you need the dealer to put it in writing the failure was due to diesel fuel contamination.
Fish, please tell us how when the WIF light never comes on that they can deny warranty coverage???????? By all reports this is very common occurrence on FORDs. No light yet rust reported as from water in the fuel = no warranty? Does the ECM record WIF sensor events? Sounds like something ripe for a class action.
And you wonder why some previous owners and would be owners are down on Ford. Chris
