The tech although is one guy he has a lot more knowledge and experience than anyone here passing half baked information. I would also add that ford doctor report matches what my cousin sees at the shop he works at.
C,mon Fish. Don't try to piss on our legs and tell us it's raining by saying you are not just as guilty at going out of your way to throw dirt on the other side as they are. I am not on their side at all in trying to bash other things, but for you to point the finger at them for doing it is like Hitler pointing the finger at the KKK for being racist. I just wish it would stop on both sides because it makes everyone who does it look like a fool.
As far as the topic, I would be leary of any engine that had the CP4 pump in it regardless of make. With all the reported issues I would not blame anyone else for feeling the same. I know this will eventually turn into "well if they bring up a negative about my favorite then I will bring up a negative about their favorite" and the perpetual circle jerk will continue.
x2. I'm not trying to bash Ford or GM; they both make good products but let's face the fact that the POS CP4 pump is a time bomb. I truly consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to read Ricatic's ordeal in detail prior to making my truck purchase. It then doesn't take much of an internet wizard to dig up many similar stories. I truly feel sorry for anyone who finds themselves in this predicament; I know I for one don't have $12-$15k laying around for a truck repair.
And I agree that going on to bring up negatives about another brand is silly and childish. But although in this case the pump in discussion is in a GM remember Ford uses the exact same pump. And Ford denying warranty claims while GM is not; well that is an entirely different topic. Maybe we need a new thread :B
