I hate to do this: New Years 2018 with the Ancients

Don't do it, don't look at this one, it embarrasses me. Way too long, too many pictures, too much text, and being a goofball doesn't fit me anymore, it will be a while before doing another unless it's spectacular. I know I said I'm pretty S&T of my trip reports but this one was already in the oven at the time, still half-baked. I apologize to my friends here.

Call it what you like Trip Report

  • Dave, Dave, Dave...Don't look?? What are you talking about. How could anyone not look. The only real problem was coming to the end. I'm thinking that you and that new camera are already pretty well acquainted. It's just a matter of how close you will become. Loved it, my friend, as always. Really appreciate you sharing the adventure. Those knees must be treating you well from the looks of the hikes! What a way to start a brand new year. And with that a Happy New Year to you and yours as well.
  • That's just an incredible climbing/hiking display. And you were out there by yourself -- does Lynn know about this?
I don't know why you're dissatisfied - there's certainly nothing lacking in your picture quality. Amazing. That's about the 3rd new camera since I've known you, right?
  • Thanks Dave, just looked at the weather for Grand gulch seeing as it's so nice here in Joshua Tree but still a little cold for this desert rat, besides I'd have to go thru Flagstaff. Did make it to Pinedale, Wyoming this past year, spent June and August there, loved it, as now retired I did stuff that I couldn't when living there as I was so busy trying to earn a living. Love your post, keep them coming.
  • Your trip was off to a rocky start, and a rocky finsh, plus it was pretty rocky in between. ;) Very nice and worthwhile, thanks.
  • Another awesome trip report from Dave as always...
I think you should let us all know when your next trip is so we can 'volunteer' to go with you!
  • Loved it! :B

I would love to see some of those places but my tolerance for heights has diminished as I have aged. Never bothered me in my younger days. You must be part Mountain Goat.
  • Neat place Dave. Are there any pictures left to be taken? It's time to shave again after reading all this.
