Murphy must be in that area this year. My alternator stopped working on the way to Rushmore in July. Four places in Gillette WY that I called would not get me in that day for easy money (including the Ford dealer). O'Rielly had the alternator and $15 tool set and I was on my way with just two hour delay.
Also in SD my transmission starts acting up but still drivable. Made it back to So Cal to rebuild the valve body.
Further my 8 year old inverter gave out in that area. Did without until returning home.
I think I would have enjoyed your snow but not the tire issues. It all works out but still a bit on edge to get things resolved in the moment.
