For what it's worth, I ran factory tires on my pop-up for 6 years and never changed them. I ran factory installed tires on my Dutchmen TT for about 2 and 1/2 years when we traded campers. I ran my Springdale TT over 3 years when I noticed dry rot beginning and switched to Carlisle tires and ran another 5 years when we traded again. I am now approaching 2 years on my original factory installed tires on my Outback and the tires (appear) to be perfectly fine (knock-on-wood .. knock, knock).
So in my opinion ... China or not! I think the OP has it right ... it's just a luck of the draw! But I do believe a lot of things that RV owners do, they bring on potential disasters themselves, regardless of what kind of tire it is.
