The hard part is separating fact from opinion and antidotal hear say.
For example when somebody tells you that ST tires made in China are accidents waiting to happen; one should question the fact that the tire industry and the TT industry sell over a million of these tires a year.
I suppose one could assume the TT and tire makers like to be sued for incompetent design in today’s litigious society; but I doubt it.
Likewise one often hears that a 1/2 ton is only good for pulling a Pop-up camper. Short wheel base trucks are death traps. Mountain driving is sure to overheat you engine, tranny, brakes etc or this, that or the other brand of TT is garbage and a host of other “known facts”.
It is true that these incidents happen but one rarely knows all the facts. Bad tire do occasionally hit the market. There are TV and TT combinations that are not compatible, truck and trailer manufacturers do turn out “lemons” occasionally. But the fact remains that most RVers buy a TT and tow for years with little difficulties.
If you are a boondocker, off roader, full timer or other specialized user you may require mods and equipment unique to your situation; other get by quiet well with the standard equipment.
