I agree with Profdant about 6 weeks is all we like to spend away from home. We are sightseers so we unhitch the TT and tour the local sights then move on to the next. We rarely have a duff day except to do laundry etc.
6 weeks of adventure a couple of times a year, plus a few local trips is enough to feed our wanderlust.
It also gives us time to plan the next adventure.
