If I had unlimited time off work and money I would still need to be home for the kids to go to school.
That being said, I would be gone every break they have. Let's make a suggested itinerary:
Thanksgiving break=DC
Christmas break=Florida Keys
Midwinter break=New Orleans
Spring break=Virginia Beach
Summer break I imagine we would hardly be home. We'd go to Yosemite and all the other national parks in California that we simply can't get to in reality b/c they are too far away. We'd go to the Grand Canyon, Arches, etc. We'd go to Yellowstone, Tetons, and Mt Rushmore. Basically...........we'd go everywhere!
It's almost sad to think about it actually. I will get my family to Yellowstone some day, but I will never have enough time off of work to drive to see the giant sequoias, and flying 5 people is too expensive. We just won't get there with our kids. We'll focus on closer locations and enjoy those.
