...and had a reasonable budget to do it with, what would you buy for towing a: A) 9000# TT B) 13000# 5er Assume weights are wet/loaded. . . . . Pick any brand/engine/gears you like. ...

whatever unit I bought I would want at least 20% more tow capacity than my load.

I would also want a (jake brake) motor brake.

big brakes, when you have an emergency shut down of your rig, you can not have enough braking capacity
