I don't know about the other RAM models... but my 2013 3500 has quite a bit more payload capacity than the 2014 2500.
According to Ram Bodybuilders
The equivalent model 2014 2500 has a GVWR of 10,000 lbs.
The 2013 and 2014 3500's have a GVWR of 11,700 lbs.
The NEW Ram 2500 frame is stronger than previous years... but it's not like the old days when the only difference between the Ram 2500 and 3500 was the rear springs. Now there is a big difference between the 2500 and 3500... including the 2014 model.
