I'm not a Ford guy but I'd consider Excursions as well when comparing to 2500 Suburbans.
The biggest drawback will be the lack of hp up hill. Otherwise, burbs are on truck chassis, so just mind the tow ratings and go find a nice one.
Personally, the old 90s models are one of the most reliable setups on the road still. All things considered. Doesn't mean a 200kmi vehicle won't have issues.
