Man, this is some serious forum!

Using this as an example...

Someone has a heart attack and is in an accident, bleeding badly....

A good sumaritan shows up and says, "Everything is going to be alright, I'm a Doctor"

We think... everything is going to be OK

The Doctor gets down on his knees (we all know he is going to examine the patient)

Then the doctor puts his hands up, looks skyward and says , "Let us Pray!"

OMG.... at least it is better a preacher than a university professor with a doctorate.... unless the professor has had CPR and a first aid class.

I absolutely think that it is important to know what a persons credentials and experiences are are before I waste time and money chasing their titles, opinions and egos.

In the scenairo above If I was praying it would be for a paramedic and EMT to get there quick while I did the best I could to stop the bleeding. I had a CPR class a long time ago.... I don't remember a word of it or how to do it.

NOTE: All military veterans from my time had the GI Bill for education.... I was in the active duty service for 4 years... yes, I used all 4 years of my GI Bill college education... no appologies offered or expected... it was a wonderful program and it helped me to provide for my family and to continue helping my country.

To get back to the OP; I tend to stick to the Forums I have experience with or have a specific questions related to. Ex; I have never owned a Class A and am not looking to at this time, so you wouldn’t find me hanging out there.

Exactly..There is know substitute for boots on the ground(actual experience) in my opinion..Everything else is guessing.

I’ll clarify my view (not speaking for anyone else). If a person has no sig and is giving opinions about a subject, I may not place any value on that opinion as I have no idea of their experience. If I see someone with no sig, has never posted a picture anywhere, and has a spurious history of posting…then I don’t place a lot of value on their posts ( i.e “Troll”…it’s very easy to look up anyone’s history). To me, it becomes very clear when someone has REAL experience. A sig provides a quick reference to someone’s-it’s a courtesy to others really. Past or present rigs…that’s up to you (Some sigs do get quite lengthy.)

Anyway, please keep in mind, Sleepy, that a forum user's signature doesn't show on every post they make. It's supposed to show only once per thread. I was told that it would show in their first post, but someone else had a different experience yesterday where it appeared subsequently. But still - only once in the thread or page or something.

Maybe one of the forum Moderators and/or TechnoWizards can better explain that.

FWIW, I'd be happy to add a photo of my previous TC to my equipment info. But all I have left after the divorce are fond memories and a photo of the rear passenger side quarter panel.

And I'm pretty darn lucky I got even that!

Hmmm, since this forum often has discussions about cooking, camping supplies, pets, photography, and so on, I need to list every cookware I've ever used, every camping supply I've ever used, every pet I've ever owned, in addition to every RV, every make and model appliance, every hitch, every engine, every TV, and on and on - just so you can decide that my advice/comment is sound?

And I have to go to the rallies on top of all that?

OK, I'm going to say it "sheesh!". Go ahead and discount my posts, block me - I don't think I need to justify myself like that. If you can't find wisdom in my comments without my writing my life's story out in my sig, then it's your loss. (not directing this at you in particular, but at this concept of having to have everything in a person's sig).

For me, I will continue to value posts that make sense, show a logical thought pattern, do not show extreme biases, and do not insult.

When you read someone's posts through the years, and they make numerous claims stating they have several engineering degrees, many college degrees, an extraordinary number of professions, they can lose credibility with or without a signature. While some people can have these credentials, not many do. The more you know a person, the easier to see through their false claims.

I understand that making it mandatory to state your RV type makes no sense. You can be untruthful in the signature as you are in posting. Sometimes I see really bright people providing good information. They reach the end of their knowledge base and start running a bluff. Most attention hounds do this.
